The Sig Sauer P226 Scorpion Threaded Barrel is a large frame, semi-automatic handgun, with an elite beavertail. The P226 stems from the P226 model of weapons that were originally made in the 1980's for military testing, and then updated over the years for commercial purposes. It can function as a recreational, self-defense, or range shooting handgun. It comes with the 4-point safety system that includes the decocking lever, automatic firing pin safety block, safety intercept notch, along with a trigger bar disconnector. All the controls are easily accessible by the shooters index finger or thumb. It has a Picatinny rail on the frame for mounting a tactical light or laser onto it.
The overall length is 8.2-inches (8.7-inches including the beavertail), with a height of 5.5-inches, and a barrel length of 4.9-inches. The slide material is made from stainless steel, and has a flat dark earth finish. The frame material is made from aluminum alloy, and also has a flat dark earth finish. The threaded barrel allows users to add a suppressor onto it. The grips are G-10 Hogue extreme piranha that include front strap checkering. The sights are the 3 white dot SIGLITE night sights. It can hold either a 10-round single stack or 15-round double stack magazine of 9mm ammunition. The trigger pull is approximately 4.4-pounds for the single, and approximately 10-pounds for the double action trigger.
