The Sig Sauer 1911 Max is a large frame handgun custom designed for competition, recreational, and target shooting purposes. It was designed by world speed shooting champion Max Michael Jr. in conjunction with Sig engineers at the Sig custom shop. The features include a beveled Dawson Ice magwell for fast magazine reloads, flat trigger for straight shooting, along with a Koenig speed hammer that is fast falling to reduce the time between the trigger squeeze and primer strike. It also has an enhanced beavertail safety, along with an ambidextrous safety selector switch.
The overall length of the 1911 Max is 8.7-inches, with a height of 5.5-inches, and a barrel length of 5-inches. The slide material is made from stainless steel, with a black nitron finish. The frame material is made from stainless steel, and features a all natural stainless finish. The grips are Hogue G-10 chain link grips, that feature 26-line per inch front straps. The rear sights are adjustable and have a fiber optic front sight post for better sight acquisition on targets. The magazine holds 10-rounds of .45 ACP ammunition. The trigger pull is single action only, and has a pull of approximately 5-pounds. The "MM" (Max Michael) logo is custom engraved on the slide and grips.
