The Sig Sauer P226 Elite Dark is a full-sized, semi-automatic handgun designed for recreational, self-defense, along with on duty purposes. It has an elite beavertail on the frame, and features front cocking serrations on the slide. It has the 4-point safety system that features a decocking lever, automatic firing pin safety block, safety intercept notch, along with a trigger bar disconnector. The magazines can hold either 15-rounds of 9mm ammunition, or 12-rounds of .357 SIG or .40 S&W caliber ammunition. The frame has an integrated Picatinny rail for mounting a tactical light or laser onto it.
The overall length of the P226 Elite Dark is 7.7-inches, with a height of 5.5-inches, and a barrel length of 4.9-inches. The frame material is made from aluminum alloy, and has a black hard coat anodized finish. The slide material is made from stainless steel, and has a black Nitron finish. The sights are adjustable combat night sights that allow users to adjust for height and windage. The grips are black aluminum and feature front strap checkering. The trigger pull is approximately 4.4-pounds (single) and 10-pounds (double).
