The Sig Sauer P229 Scorpion is a medium frame, semi-automatic handgun designed for recreational, self-defense, along with competitive shooting purposes. It has a beavertail on the frame, along with a short reset trigger. The short reset trigger allows shooters to have 60% faster trigger return due to a shorter reset. This allows users to have more accurate shot groups during the firing process. It has the 4-point safety system that features a decocking lever, automatic firing pin safety lock, safety intercept notch, along with a trigger bar disconnector. The frame has an integrated accessory rail to allow users to mount a tactical light or laser onto it.
The overall length of the P229 Scorpion is 7.1-inches, with a height of 5.4-inches, and a barrel length of 3.9-inches. The slide material is made from stainless steel and has a Ceracote finish. The frame material is made from aluminum alloy and has a Ceracote finish. The grips are Hogue G-10 grips, with front strap checkering. The magazine can hold 15-rouns of 9mm, or 12-rounds of .40 S&W ammunition. The sights are the SIGLITE 3 white dot night sights. It has an approximate pull of 4.4-pounds for the single action trigger, and approximate pull of 10-pounds for the double action trigger.
