The rotary magazine is a funny little rarely used magazine design that was first used in 1899. The magazine is similar to a top loading revolver as the rounds are loaded in the top of the detachable magazine and they are then stored around a circular sprocket with a spring that provides tension that is later released in increments in order to reload the gun.
