0/5Winchester Model 1892 Large Loop Carbine
Posted by Jason Brumett
The Model 1892 Large Loop Carbine has a grade 1 walnut stock that does not have the pistol grip but rather a straight grip. There is a large loop on the lever part of the lever action and the purpose of this larger than normal loop and large trigger guard is so that you can use the gun with gloves. So who uses gloves all the time? Well cowboys, farm workers, eskimos, people in alaska and the far north. Hardcore hunters that go out in the dead of winter and snow. All the hunters i know have makeshift what i call "begger" gloves in which the fingers are missing or cut so they can be pulled back. This gun doesn't call for all that mess, it works with gloves.
This gun may be good for diabetics..? whaaa? My Grandfather was diabetic and he always had to wear gloves for what im guessing was improved circulation. This gun would have suited him well for annoying coyotes that were always harassing his horses and livestock.
The gun comes in several calibers that include 44 rem mag, 357 mag, 44-40 win, and 45 colt. All in all the Winchester Model 1892 Large Loop is a time tested american gun that has a few modifications to suit those who wear gloves all the time.
