For those of you out there that are fans of the Ruger LCP .380 but are afraid to carry that gun because of lack of stopping power...this gun might just be for you. It combines the small and thin frame that many people love from the LCP (just slightly larger actually) with a bit more punch by stepping it up to a 9mm.
At just 17 ounces this gun may be your new best friend. Small enough to easily conceal in summer clothes like a t-shirt and shorts, but strong enough to stop the bad guys.
It was actually named handgun of the year for 2011 :)
The LC9 is a double-action-only, hammer-fired, locked-breech pistol with a smooth trigger pull. Control and confident handling of the Ruger LC9 are accomplished through reduced recoil and aggressive frame checkering for a positive grip in all conditions. The Ruger LC9 features smooth "melted" edges for ease of holstering, carrying and drawing.
