The Remington Model 870™ Express® Synthetic 18" with an MSRP of just under $400,... yep this gun lists for $399 on Remingtons website, is one the the best bangs for the buck if you are looking to get a inexpensive shotgun, that still has some quality to it.
The 18 inch barrel means that this gun "Spreads" and does not hold a pattern long. This makes it a great home defense weapon, or for shooting rabbit or other game that you usually have to get close to to spook.
At $399 you really can't afford not to get one of these boogers if you don't already have a pump shotgun.
The Model 870 by Remington has been the #1 selling shotgun in the United States for something like 50 years, and that should tell you something. This is a true American gun.
