Some of the features include a 20-inche phosphate coated match grade barrel to help ensure it does not corrode. The magazine ejection is ambidextrous. The frame has a fire control selector to switch between safe and semi-auto. The sight rail allows for accessories such as a tactical laser, prismatic scope, or mini red dot sight. The for-end of the barrel is a Mixed Pine Magpul Moe for-end.
The overall length of the M400 Mixed Pine is 38.5-inches, with a barrel length of 20-inches, and a 1 in 8 rifle twist. It has a semi-automatic direct impingement gas operation system with a locking bolt. The lower receiver is a 7075-T6 aircraft grade aluminum receiver. The grip is a Mixed Pine Magpul Moe grip. It has no front or rear sight, but it does have a rail for mounting a scope. The magazine holds 10-rounds of 5.56 x 45mm NATO (.223 Caliber) ammunition. The front of the barrel does not have an A2 flash suppressor like other models in the M400 series do. The frame, stock, front end have a hard coat anodized Mixed Pine finish.
