The Sig Sauer M400 is an AR platform semi-automatic rifle that is designed for law enforcement, military, hunting, or competitive shooting purposes. Some of the features include a direct impingement gas operating system with locking bolt, 16-inch chrome lined barrel with a phosphate finish, along with a M4 hand guard and rifle butt stock. It also has an A2 flash suppressor at the end of the barrel, an ambidextrous magazine release, and a flip-up adjustable rear iron sight. It has a sight rail for mounting a mini red dot sight, tactical laser, or prismatic scope onto it.
The overall length of the M400 is 35.6-inches with the stock fully extended, and 32.3-inches with the stock fully retracted. The barrel length is 16-inches, and has a 1 in 7 inch twist. The grip is black polymer pistol style design. The magazine holds 30-rounds of 5.56 x 45mm NATO ammunition. The rear sight is an adjustable flip-up rear sight, and the front sight is a "F" marked front sight. The approximate pull on the trigger is 7.6-pounds of pressure. The lower receiver is aircraft grade aluminum forged.
