The Sig Sauer SP2022 is part of the SIG Pro series model of handguns. It is a medium sized, semi-automatic pistol, designed for on-duty, self-defense, along with conceal and carry purposes. The Pro series features frames that are made of polymer, hammer fired rounds, and interchangeable grips. It also has an interchangeable fire control unit. The frame has an integrated Picatinny rail for mounting a tactical light or laser onto it. The grips are also interchangeable between three sizes.
The overall length of the SP2022 is 7.4-inches, with a height of 5.7-inches, and a barrel length of 3.9-inches. The frame material is made from polymer, and features a black polymer finish. The slide material is made from stainless steel, and features a black Nitron finish. The grips are polymer, and feature polymer on the front straps. The magazines can hold 10 or 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and 10 or 12 rounds of .40 S&W ammunition. The sights can either be adjustable for windage and elevation, or the SIGLITE 3 white dot night sights. The trigger is a short reset trigger (SRT) that has a 60-percent shorter trigger reset for more accurate shooting. The trigger pull for the single action is approximately 4.4-pounds, and approximately 10-pounds for the double action.
