The Sig Sauer P229 Classic 22 is a medium frame, semi-automatic handgun designed for recreational and practice range shooting. It is intended to have the same feel as the other P229 models for people who desire to practice with them, and cuts the cost of ammunition for range shooting. It has the 4-point safety system that features a decocking lever, automatic firing pin safety block, safety intercept notch, along with trigger bar disconnector. It also has an accessor rail on the frame for mounting a tactical light or laser onto it.
The overall length of the P229 Classic 22 is 7.1-inches, with a height of 5.4-inches, and a barrel length of 3.9-inches. The frame material is made from aluminum alloy, with a black hard anodized finish. The slide material is made from stainles steel, and has a black hard anodized finish. The magazine holds 15-rounds of .22LR ammunition. The trigger pull is approximately 4.4-pounds for the single and 10-pounds for the double. The sights are adjustable sights for windage along with elevation.
