The Sig Sauer P229 Elite Guard is a semi-automatic, medium sized frame handgun designed for on-duty, personal protection, along with conceal and carry purposes. It has an ergonomic beavertail on the grip of the frame. It has the short reset trigger system that allows shooters to have a 60% shorter reset on the trigger to allow for more accurate shooting during the firing cycle. The slide features serrations on the front for an easier grip while loading and unloading the chamber. The frame has an integrated accessory rail to allow users to mount a tactical light or laser onto it.
The overall length of the P229 Elite Guard is 7.1-inches, with a height of 5.4-inches, and a barrel length of 3.9-inches. The slide material is made from stainless steel, with a black Nitron finish. The frame material is made from aluminum alloy and has a black hard coat anodized finish. The sights are adjustable combat night sights that can be set for elevation and windage. The magazine holds 15-rounds of 9mm ammunition, and 12-rounds of 357 SIG or .40 S&W. The trigger pull is 10-pounds on the double action and 4.4-pounds on the single action. The grips are black polymer that feature front strap checkering.
