The Sig Sauer P938 Blackwood is a sub-compact beavertail framed pistol that is designed for personal protection, along with conceal and carry purposes. It is based off the P238 as an updated design that holds 9mm ammunition. The overall length is 5.9-inches, with a height of 3.9-inches, and a barrel length of 3.0-inches. It also has an ambidextrous thumb safety built into the frame.
The P938 Blackwood has an alloy frame with a black hard coat anodized finish. The slide is made of stainless steel with a natural stainless finish. The magazine holds 6-rounds of 9mm ammunition, and has the 3 white dot SigLite night sights on the front and rear. The trigger is single action only (SAO), with a pull of approximately 7.5-pounds. The grips are custom blackwood, with front strap checkering.
