The Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle named 2011 Rifle of the Year and for a good reason, this gun has it all and it looks great. The Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle in .309 Winchester with it's adjustable rear sight and cool laminate coating is available in both right and left handed versions. By selecting only 1 caliber per this model Ruger could spend more time seeking perfection and less time worrying over compatibility issues and making adjustments to things like twist rates, and barrel lengths just to make things work. Nope The Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle is not a conglomerate that meets many criteria but rather a surgically precise .308 rifle that is as maxed out in features as it is with functionality.

The Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle includes the following feature straight from the factory

flash suppressor- this is removable, it reduces muzzle flash to help hide your location. once removed the adapter can then take most other .30 cal muzzle add-ons.

picatinny rail system-the rail system has become very popular over the last few years allowing you to easily add scopes and other accessories.

10 round magazine- this mini 14 style mag is released by pushing the trigger guard forward. Also comes in 5 round magazines.

large recoil pad-it is adjustable to fit different frame sizes, it's not a collapsible stock but the manual adjustments are meant to serve the same purpose

mauser type extractor- it is super smooth and reliable and ensures the ultimate level of confidence in the shooters ability to load follow up rounds.

Other features include stainless steel bolt, three position safety, studs for slings (swivel style), cold forge alloy steel barrel.
