The Sig Sauer P226 MK25 is a full size, semi-automatic handgun, designed as an updated version of the military tactical P226 model made during the 1980's. It can function as a recreational, on-duty, or self-defense handgun. It features the 4-point safety system that includes, a decocking lever, automatic firing pin safety block, safety intercept notch, along with a trigger bar disconnector. The frame has a military specification M1913 Picatinny rail for mounting a tactical light or laser onto it.

The overall length of the P226 MK25 is 7.7-inches, with a height of 5.5-inches, and a barrel length of 4.4-inches. The grips are black polymer that feature front strap serrations to help fit the outline of each shooters hand. The slide material is made from stainless steel, and has a black Nitron finish. The frame material is made from aluminum alloy, and has a black hard coat anodized finish. The magazine holds 15-rounds of double stack 9mm ammunition. The sights are the SIGLITE 3 white dot system. The trigger pull is approximately 4.4-pounds (single) and 10-pounds (double).
