The Smith & Wesson Model 63 Revolver is manufactured the in the popular J-Frame design. It features a satin stainless finish, stainless steel frame & cylinder, with a black synthetic pistol grip for improving accuracy on recoil. In 2007 S&W began production on the Model 63 after discontinuing the model in 2000. The frame and cylinder are stainless steel, with a satin stainless finish. It is a small-frame revolver with a exposed hammer.
The S&W Model 63 has an overall length of 7.25-inches, and a barrel length of 3-inches (5-inches for older models). It fires 8-rounds of .22 LR caliber cartridges. The front sight is a HI-Viz fiber optic orange sight, and has a U shaped adjustable rear sight. It is considered a recreational, kit gun, that can be used as a back-up revolver, or for small game hunting. The J-Frame is a small model size that can be handled by men or women.
