While ultimately reliable, rugged and stylish, the pistol is not without its drawbacks. The game most of us must play where we trade off certain bells and whistles to keep a little money in our pockets is not the most fun. I do not believe that the Sig Sauer Scorpion is missing much for the average user, and the things that it does lack – match barrel, match trigger and the slightly-iffy paint, can all be corrected with little additional investment, should one so desire. Sig does not aim to reinvent the wheel with the Scorpion, but they do add significant advantages and updates to this hundred-year-old design, and are one of the least expensive options that I would be willing to stake my life on – because let’s be honest: pistols are life insurance. If anything happens to your rifle, that pistol needs to work every time. I believe the Scorpion, a combination of Sig Sauer quality and John Browning engineering, to be just that reliable.
