It is a low profile handgun, designed to be a pocket pistol that goes unnoticed while being carried around. The overall length is 5.5-inches, with a height of 3.9-inches, and a barrel length of 2.9-inches. It holds a 6-round magazine of 9mm ammunition.
The Sig Sauer P290 Black Diamond Plate has a frame finish of black polymer, interchangeable black polymer grips, and a Nitron finish on the slide. The slide also has black diamond plated engravings, with serrations on the rear for easy grip while loading rounds into the chamber. The trigger is double action only, with a pull of approximately 9-pounds. The sights are the 3 white dot SigLite night sights.
