The Model 700 XHR features a jeweled bolt, meaning the bolt body is covered with tiny swirls that are supposed to help hold lubrication. Its synthetic stock is finished with Realtree AP HD and barrel has a matte blue finish. The XHR is equipped with Remington's patented X-Mark Pro adjustable trigger system, which has a pull weight of 3.5 pounds with two pounds of adjustment to suit the shooter's individual needs. What's unique about the X-Mark Pro trigger system is that it can be adjusted externally. And the rifle also features a Super Cell brand recoil pad and a hinged floorplate.

Remington recommends the Model 700 XHR for general hunting, however, the company has discontinued production of this model.
